Summary: Jack gets a bit stuck
“Jack? There have been reports of teddy bears causing disturbances is St. David's Shopping Centre.” Called Tosh, as she got the exact location. Owen was busy tending to a recently diseased alien that was spat out by the Rift and much to the disappointment of the team caught in a hit and run incident after exiting the Centre. Ianto appeared behind Tosh, hands rested on the back of her computer chair. Slowly he raised an eyebrow at the current problem.
“What kind of alien or piece of alien tech would have been dumped in a Build a Bear workshop?”
“You never know where the Rift will spit things out. Also it could have had something to do with that alien that Owen is tending to. It looks human.” Tosh replied, turning briefly in her chair to look Ianto in the eyes. She smiled slightly as he chuckled.
“I guess you're right. With the orange skin it looked as though he had a very bad fake tan session.”
Tosh giggled, nodding in agreement. The alien had orange skin, green eyes and blueish hair. It did look rather odd indeed. As the two laughed Jack slipped out into the main hub from his office. Tosh turned her chair fully round, after Ianto had stepped back so she could speak with the boss of Torchwood.
“What's going on?”
“Well we have been receiving reports from St. David's Shopping Centre that the bears on display at the Build a Bear Workshop are causing havoc.”
Jack sighed, grabbing his coat from the hooks, slipping into it. Turning to his team he said,
“Keep the comms open at all times!”
And with that he slipped through the cog door, off to the SUV. He hoped this would be over quickly. As usual in Jack's mind it was merely stuffed animals. Nothing could go wrong... could it?
OoOoOo
4 hours later...
Ianto paced the hub, sleeves rolled up as they waited for any indication that the havoc had been seized and Jack had found the devise that had manipulated the stuffed animals. Ianto checked his watch. '4 hours exactly!' he thought as his eyes went downcast once more. Owen was slouched in his chair, spinning from side to side with his head back. Gwen was reading a magazine she'd bought this morning on her way to the hub and Tosh was keeping her eyes on the Shopping Centre, whilst also looking through the CCTV in the Shopping Centre to see if she could spot the alien that was now in a morgue drawer.
“Should we contact Jack? It's been four hours since he left the hub?” Gwen mentioned, laying her magazine on her desk table, looking up to her three team mates. Ianto seized his pacing and stood, he was deep in thought when a familiar voice entered his comm. He breathed a sigh of relief as Jack's voice floated through the ear piece.
“Ianto... I-well I have got myself a little bit stuck.”
Ianto stood puzzled for a moment, as he tapped the comm before answering quietly,
“What's happened? Have you found the devise?”
“Yeah, it was about the size of a button, easy enough to find, but seriously that isn't the problem any more. I need your help!”
Ianto rubbed his face before frowning. He muttered a quick “Okay.” to Jack before grabbing his jacket and slipping out of the hub and into his car to see what all the fuss was about.
When he arrived he couldn't think for the life of him what the problem could be. He had obviously sorted out the bears running wild in the Shopping Centre so what could be the
problem? Pulling into the multi story, he parked up and went in search for Jack.
As he entered, he was just in time to hear an overhead announcement.
“Could security please make their way to the ground level! Could security please make their way down to the ground level thank you!”
Intrigued Ianto hurried down the stairs, wondering if Jack was in trouble? His shoes clapped against the flooring, as he dodged some rather dishevelled shoppers and crying kids. He had caught sight of some of the security and followed closely behind. He frowned slightly as they were heading towards the main entrance.
“Jack?”
There was no reply to that. As he neared, Ianto couldnt help but laugh. There was Jack trapped in a revolving door, jacket jammed tightly in the door, his arms in what looked to a rather uncomfortable position. Jack caught sight of Ianto with a rather sheepish smile.
“At least I stopped the bears...”
