“He has a Vortex Manipulator.”
“I have a Time Machine. I win every time.”
“Do you always boast Sir, about what you have and what he doesn't?”
The Doctor raised an eyebrow, his dark eyes staring down at the dark hair man he had only seen on his screen in the TARDIS... the fateful day he'd lost Donna. He smiled slightly.
“I only speak the truth really, because his Vortex Manipulator is like a Space Hopper and my TARDIS is like a Sports car. Which would you rather have--?”
“Ianto Jones and I would rather have a Space Hopper if it came with Jack.”
The Doctor was about to retort, but the Welshman caught him to it as they stood face to face in the main hub. Ianto flashed a quick smile.
“Plus I like my men like Jack, not a beam pole with a suit on.”
Ianto stepped back and awaited the Doctor to reply. He bit back a laugh as the Time Lords who demeanour changed. He sort of shrunk back to the TARDIS, his hands balled into fists in his long brown coat pockets. He had to admit he was quite taken aback and didn't reply for once. The only other person who really challenged him about his constant boasting and showing off was Donna and she was gone now.
“So you wouldn't find my TARDIS impressive?”
“No... not in the slightest. Sorry Doctor but I am set with my man and his Space Hopper.” Ianto said quietly as he turned to walk away quite happy with showing The Doctor that constant boasting was not a particularly good trait to have.
How anyone put up with that Time Lord he would never know, but he had to say his presence was rather invigorating. His smile grew as he made his way up to Jack's office looking over at Tosh who was showing the Doctor some new programs she was working on.
He wasn't so bad really.
